FAQ

Do you give online lessons?

Yes. I am currently offering online and in-person lessons.

I have a multiple camera setup in my studio to give different angles of myself and the instruments. This allows me to show hand and finger positioning while keeping the face to face dialog that is required for an instructive lesson.

Is there parking at your home studio?

Yes, plenty. Please park in the driveways in front of, or to the right of the house

How much practice time do you expect from students?

I recommend most students start with practicing 10 minutes a day, five days a week.

Advanced students usually need to practice 30-60 minutes per day as frequently as possible.

Do you show students how to practice?

Yes, I like to think of lessons as guided practice time with immediate feedback. During lessons, I show students the most effective ways to practice on their own.

What days and hours are you available for lessons?

I am available Sunday through Friday, 10:00 AM – 8 PM. I currently do not teach on Saturdays.

Please Contact me for specific available time slots.

How frequently do lessons occur?

I prefer to have weekly lessons with students. This ensures their continued progress.

I do accept a handful of students who can only attend every other week, however, spots are limited. Please inquire if there are any time slots available.

Are parents allowed to sit in on lessons?

Of course! Parents are welcome to sit in the studio and quietly listen in during the lesson.

If you would rather not be present, there are quite a few restaurants within walking distance including Pinon Coffee House, McDonald’s, Mr. Powdrell’s Barbeque House, and Bob’s Burgers.

You are also welcome to wait in your vehicle in the driveway.

What books do I need and where do I get them?

I supply all basic books and handouts as a perk for taking lessons from me.

If you or your child would like, feel free to buy music books or sheet music from any of our wonderful local stores.

I also have a referral link for Sheet Music Plus which is where I get most of my music from.  (Disclosure: I earn a commission if you make a purchase from this link.)

What is your cancellation policy?

I realize things come up out of the blue and try to be flexible, however, I do appreciate as much notice as possible. At least 24 hours is preferred.

I currently do not charge for missed lessons, but will drop a student from the studio if attendance becomes a continual issue.

Make-up lessons are available if I have any openings in my schedule.
